Partnet Successfully Transitions DOD EMALL to DISA Computing Center

Company Provides Complete System Rearchitecture for Government's Largest Online Marketplace

Salt Lake City, UT - May 11, 2009 - Partnet, Inc., the industry expert in online marketplaces for government, today announced that it has successfully transitioned the Department of Defense (DOD) EMALL, the government's largest online marketplace, to a Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) computing center. Enabling a more secure environment, the transition involved moving the entire DOD EMALL system, serving over 40,000 users with 47 million items and an annual sales volume of $800 million, from commercially-hosted servers to the DISA Defense Enterprise Computing Center (DECC).

"This transition was necessary to secure the continued integrity and interoperability of the DOD EMALL system," said Sheila Rayburn, DOD EMALL Program Manager. "It ensures that both DOD and civilian agencies can continue to effectively procure the products necessary to fulfill their mission-critical requirements."

The DOD EMALL transition, which was implemented under an extremely aggressive delivery schedule, required the rearchitecting of over 100 servers comprising four distinct environments in disparate locations. Additionally, the transition required significant database consolidation, revised storage capabilities, more efficient configuration management procedures, and the implementation of a system-wide OS upgrade. Partnet worked in partnership with DISA Network and Operations teams to accomplish the task.
